Overview

Messenger CRM ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that provides CRM and lead management tools for Facebook Messenger. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data We Collect

The Extension collects and stores the following data from your Facebook Messenger conversations:

• Contact information: Names, profile picture URLs, conversation IDs
• Profile data: City, state, employment, and birthday information from public Facebook profiles
• Conversation metadata: Unread status, last message timestamps, message direction (sent/received)
• User-created data: Tags, notes, lead statuses, folders, message templates, and scheduled messages

How Data Is Stored

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. No data is transmitted to external servers, cloud databases, or third-party services. Your data stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere.

How Data Is Used

The data collected is used solely to provide the CRM functionality of the Extension, including:

• Organizing and displaying your Messenger contacts in the CRM dashboard
• Tracking lead statuses through a sales pipeline
• Displaying contact profile information (name, location, employment, birthday)
• Sending scheduled messages and automated birthday messages through Messenger
• Applying tags, notes, and folder organization to conversations

Website Access

The Extension requires access to the following websites to function:

• messenger.com — to read conversation lists, display the CRM sidebar, and send messages
• facebook.com — to read conversation lists on Facebook Messages and to scan public profile pages for contact information (city, state, employment, birthday)

The Extension only accesses these sites to provide its core CRM features. It does not access any other websites.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, transfer, or share your data with any third parties. All data remains local to your browser. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the Extension's CRM functionality.

Data Retention

Your data persists in your browser's local storage until you either uninstall the Extension or manually clear your browser data. You can delete all Extension data at any time by uninstalling it from chrome://extensions.

Permissions

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage — to save your CRM data locally
• alarms — to schedule birthday checks and timed message delivery
• activeTab — to interact with the active Messenger tab
• scripting — to inject the CRM interface into Messenger and read profile data from Facebook

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
